Maine Equal Justice News
Bye Pat...Hi Ana & Jack!
In October, Maine Equal Justice and MAIN bid a fond farewell to Patrick Ende, our Litigation Director. Pat is now working in Governor Baldacci's administration as Senior Policy Advisor. In his new job, Pat advises the Governor on health and human services, and education issues. We know that Pat will continue to work hard to represent the interests of low-income people and we wish him well!

MEJP's loss is also its gain because Jack Comart, an attorney at Pine Tree Legal Assistance for over 20 years, has joined the MEJP staff. Jack is taking a 2-year leave of absence from PTLA to fill Pat's position. As many of you know, Pat and Jack worked closely together for many years, and Jack has a lot of experience in Medicaid issues. We are very lucky to have Jack on staff.
We also want to welcome Ana Hicks, MEJP's new Policy Analyst. Ana has a great deal of experience advocating on issues affecting low-income people. She worked with anti-poverty programs and on children's issues in Washington, DC, and most recently worked with a community food bank and the Hunger Action Coalition in California.
