MAIN opposes ballot measures &
Joins "Vote No on One" Coalition
Mainers for Real and Responsible Property Tax Relief
At MAIN's May meeting, MAIN members enjoyed a presentation from Christopher St. John of the Maine Center for Economic Policy about the upcoming ballot measures. After a valuable and thoughtful discussion, the group decided to oppose both of the ballot measures. The group also discussed the merits of joining a broad based coalition to defeat Question One, Mainers for Real and Responsible Property Tax Relief, which includes some members who are not MAIN's traditional allies. MAIN voted 15 to 5 to join that Coalition, which will be working to defeat Question One.
