Apply Now for the Maine Residents Property Tax and Rent Refund!

The Maine Residents Property Tax and Rent Refund Program is also known as the “Circuit Breaker” Program. This great program helps those with high property taxes or high rent payments. Here’s some information about who is eligible and how to apply. The Application deadline is May 31, 2011.

Who is Eligible?

  1. Was your income in 2009 less than $64,950 (single person) or less than $86,000 for a family of 2 or more?
  2. Did you pay property taxes or pay rent?
  3. Were you a resident of Maine for all of 2009 and did you live in your own home or rent for at least 6 months or more in 2009?

If you answered YES to these questions, then you should apply.

How to Apply?

FILL OUT AN APPLICATION by doing one of the following:

  1. Call 207-624-7894 for an application. Leave your name and mailing address when you call.
  2. Write for an application to be sent to you.
