MaineCare Targeted Case Management Services Have Changed
Many MaineCare
members with special
health care needs
have Case Managers.
These Case Managers
help members get medical, educational,
vocational and other services needed to
lead an independent and healthy life. For
example, members with development
disabilities, behavioral health issues,
substance abuse, HIV, and other special
health needs get this sort of help. This
service is changing.
These changes are in effect now:
- Members will only be allowed to
have one Case Manager. Members
will be able to choose which Case
Manager they want to keep.
- Members with chronic physical
health conditions will now be able
to get case management services.
- Members will have to meet certain
levels of need in order to get or
keep a Case Manager. This means
that some people who have gotten
this service may no longer be
eligible.
Please let Maine Equal Justice know if you run into any problems with getting
or keeping this service. Contact
us, or call 1-866-626-7059.
