Your household monthly gross income must be below 200% of the federal poverty level.

For example: $2,429 for a family of 2; $3,052/3; $3,675/4;$4,299/5. See chart

Some money can be subtracted from gross income when determining eligibility for Maine Care. There are also asset limits but many assets do not count. If you are even close to the income limit, it is worth applying to see if you can get health care coverage for your family.

You do not need a face-to-face interview to apply. You can apply by:

• Calling a Regional DHHS Office
• Going to a Regional DHHS Office
• Printing the application off the DHHS website
